Skiers won’t be the only ones showing off what they can do at Apex Ski Resort on Feb. 13.
Apex’s upcoming annual Brewski will feature 21 craft breweries from across B.C. offering samples of their beer at the event which was started three years ago. Brewski has continued to grow in popularity and recognition, with the roughly 300 tickets already sold. Apex General Manager James Shalman noted he’s aware of several people coming from central Washington, and he believes hosting Brewski at a ski resort adds another level to the event.
“People are coming from all over, including Vancouver, because they’re including a ski resort trip with a great opportunity to taste all of these craft beers,” he explained.
Brewski will be hosted in the Gunbarrel Saloon, which will be closed down to host the event, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. with a live band performance afterwards. Brewski is one of two similar events Apex is hosting this year, with the other being Vertical and Vintages. Shalman described Vertical and Vintages as exactly the same format as Brewski, just with wine and wineries instead of craft beer.
“The idea behind the events was to get a chance for all the wineries and breweries to come to a fun setting and getaway, and give an opportunity for the visitors at the resort to see the fantastic wine and brew product in the area,” Shalman recalled.
Tickets to Vertical and Vintages are still available, and it will take place on March 5 with 20 wineries in attendance.
