Brian Jackson is back

Qualicum Beach-Victoria Symphony conductor comes out of retirement

Beloved conductor Brian Jackson is returning to lead the Victoria Symphony in a performance this Christmas.

When Jackson announced he was retiring and put down his baton after a performance in Qualicum Beach last September it was a sad night for fans of the maestro. Jackson was the principal Pops conductor with the Victoria Symphony for 17 years.

Jackson officially retired from the position in the fall but Eric Charman, who has been arranging Victoria Symphony performances in the Qualicum Beach area since 1991, is pleased to announce that special arrangements have been made to bring him back.

A Sentimental Christmas will take place December 16 with Jackson returning with the incredibly talented Canadian College of Performing Arts singers in a tribute to the Christmas season.

Tickets will go on sale November 15 at the Mulberry Bush Book Store.
