Budding filmmakers needed for Film Fever

LAKE COUNTRY –– Short film submissions from youth are due soon for Film Fever.

Hosted by the Summer Arts Scene For Youth in Central Okanagan Society (SASFY), the film festival is a fundraiser to support the annual SASFY summer arts school, Ignite the Passion for the Arts, for youth ages nine to 15.

Submissions can be no longer than 10 minutes in duration and categories include documentary, horror, drama, comedy, nature, aboriginal, environment issues (sustainability), musical, film noire, and creative.

Film, short clips, photo essays, video and animation entries will be accepted. Submissions are free to enter and each artist can submit multiple entries.

Entry deadline is April 15.

A screening of the top finalists and announcement of the winners will take place April 30 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Creekside Theatre in Lake Country.

The event will include critiques and scoring from the jury panel, casting of audience’s people’s choice vote, tabulation of the combination of jury & people’s choice vote resulting in the announcement of the winners.
