‘Bungalow’ singer Helman to headline Surrey’s Party for Planet

SURREY — Juno nominee Scott Helman will headline Surrey’s Party for the Planet event this year, as part of B.C.’s largest Earth Day celebration.

The annual TD Canada Trust-sponsored event, set for Saturday, April 23 at City Hall Plaza, is expected to draw more than 20,000 people.

Helman, from Toronto, is known for his pop songs “Machine” and “Bungalow.” (see video below)

Joining him will be guitarist, singer-songwriter and record producer Vince Vaccaro, and family entertainers Bobs & LoLo, Music with Marine and Franklin the Turtle. New this year is a “Science Surprise Show” by Science World on the Road.

The event will feature a variety of environmental-themed activities and crafts, a rock climbing wall, bike-powered smoothie stop, digital photo booth, farmers’ market, tree and plant sale, an “Enviro-bungee” and more. Visit surrey.ca/partyfortheplanet.
