The second annual Harrison Festival Society fundraiser features the music of legendary bluesman Jim Byrnes on May 11 in Harrison.

Inimitable Jim Byrnes is back in Harrison May 11 for a special fundraiser in support of the Harrison Festival Society.

Multiple Juno winner Byrnes is one of Canada’s best bluesmen. Organizers say he always puts on a stellar show in the laid-back beach town of Harrison.

The Sojourners, originally put together to back up Byrnes on his award-winning album, House of Refuge, are in demand for their music with echoes of doo wop, R&B, country and blues woven with gospel.

Tickets are $75 with $30 tax receipt.

This is the society’s only major fundraising event each year and they count on the proceeds to keep their events and activities happening. A silent auction, raffle and door prizes are part of the fun. Appies and refreshments will be served.

2nd Annual Harrison Festival Society Fundraiser with Jim Byrnes and the Sojourners, Saturday, May 11,  7:30 p.m. Tickets 604 796-3664 or online at www.harrisonfestival.com.
