The Abbotsford Arts Council is inviting post-secondary students of the Fraser Valley working in a variety of media and disciplines to examine how industry has evolved, its effects on our world and the ways in which we create, and where it’s going next.
It’s been 250 years since the Industrial Revolution took place when almost every aspect of daily life was influenced in some way by the mechanization of production tools. Today, the revolution continues to evolve as we push our technology further, faster, and deeper into our everyday lives.
The Abbotsford Arts Council will be accepting proposals for new works created specifically for this show and works already created that fit within students’ interpretations of the theme.
Artists are asked to submit 2D and 3D work in a variety of mediums including painting, drawing, photography, graphic and/or industrial design, sculpture, video and installation.
This exhibition will take place at the Kariton Art Gallery and Boutique in Abbotsford from June 11 to July 5. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 6 p.m.

Submissions need to include a bio/artist statement and an image list including the title, media, dimensions and year.
