Beach Flicks is kicking off 2017 with the charming, heart-warming comedy-drama Captain Fantastic on Friday, Jan. 20.
Captain Fantastic tells the story of a family who lives off the grid in the woods in Washington state. The father Ben (Viggo Mortensen) is a free-thinker and he and his wife raise their six children with the basic needs, but very full experiences.
When a family emergency forces them to leave their self-created paradise in the woods and embark on a road trip across the country, Ben finds his unconventional ideas about parenting challenged by the real world.
Captain Fantastic is rated R for language and brief graphic nudity.
Beach Flicks reminds audiences that due to the nature of fringe films, there may be adult content, subtitles, accents and quite frequently blasphemy and profanity.
Beach Flicks is at Eaglecrest Golf Course (2035 W. Island Hwy., Qualicum Beach).
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the film starts at 7 p.m. sharp.
Tickets are $7.
