Accomplished professional director Garry Davey was in town on the weekend hosting a two-day, 10 hour workshop with the cast of Echo Players’ upcoming play Lettice and Lovage in Qualicum Beach.

Davey adjudicated the North Island Zone Festival in Qualicum Beach 2010. 

He is the former artistic director for TheatreOne in Nanaimo as well as the William Davis Centre for Actor’s Study in Vancouver.

He has appeared in television shows like Da Vinci’s Inquest, Cold Squad, and The X-Files and performed in theatres across the country. 

Davey graduated from The Vancouver Playhouse School and has directed over 20 plays.

“The cast and I  are very excited to have this wonderful opportunity to work with Garry,” said director of Lettice and Lovage, Sue Mugurly.

Lettice and Lovage, a modern British comedy, will run from March 31 to April 17 at the Village Theatre. Stay tuned for more on this performance coming up in The News.
