CD recording to benefit stage

Live CD being recorded at the Blue Ox Pub in Lumby Saturday with proceeds from CD sales to go to Lumby Community Park Stage.

A local music benefit CD will be recorded live at the Blue Ox Pub in Lumby, Saturday starting at 8 p.m.

All proceeds of CD sales will go towards the construction of the new Lumby Community Park Stage.

The existing fund to build the stage is being administered by Whitevalley Community Resource Centre.

Donations can also be made directly to the stage fund.

“The much-needed covered Lumby Community Park Stage will be used for music, theatre, dance, concerts, speeches, special events, and more,” said Randy Rauck of Viva Promotions and Productions, one of the sponsors of the CD event along with the Monashee Arts Council and other local organizations. “The organizers are asking people to come down and support this creative stage fund-raising event and eventually buy a CD.”

Professional recording engineer, Henry Piovesan of Vernon’s  Piano Jam Studio, has been secured to do the recording.

“The goal is to have CDs on sale at the CD release party and jam Friday, Dec. 20 at the Blue Ox Pub in Lumby, just in time for Christmas,” said Rauck.
