Enjoy an evening of the global symbol of peace and hope—light—at the Rollin Art Centre this Saturday, Dec. 5 from 4-8 p.m. Enjoy an evening of sipping hot apple cider while wandering the Rollin gardens that will be filled with lanterns and luminaires that local children created along with Port Alberni Community Living.
Suggested admission is $2 per person.
Entertainment for the evening begins with Santa and Mrs. Claus (5×7 printed photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus are available for $5 each).

Mistletoe Market
The Rollin Art Centre Gallery will be dressed for Christmas from Dec. 1–23 as the Mistletoe Market opens. Come stroll the gallery and see local artists’ work as you search for perfect gifts for all your special someones.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is located at the corner of Argyle Street and Eighth Avenue.
50 years of art
The board of directors of the Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley invite the public to join us in the Rollin Art Centre gallery for cake and refreshments, Thursday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., to help celebrate the Community Arts Council’s 50th anniversary.
Bring your photos, stories or just come and show support to this amazing organization that has withstood the test of time, supporting local artists while growing art in the Alberni Valley for 50 years.
It’s time to renew
The Community Arts Council will be holding its annual members appreciation day with two days of savings! If you are a current member, join us in the gallery, Thursday, Dec. 10 (7-8 p.m.) and Friday, Dec. 11 (Open late, 8 p.m.) to receive 20 per cent off all items in the gift shop and gallery, excluding ticket sales. Don’t forget to renew your membership for 2016 too.
Extended hours
The Rollin Art Centre and decorated grounds will remain open late, Friday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 18, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., for you to wander the beautifully decorated grounds and gallery.
Timbre! concert
Timbre! choir’s concert, called ‘Christmas Card’, will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13, at 2:30 p.m. at ADSS Theatre.
Tickets on sale at Rollin Art Centre (cash only), Echo Centre, Finishing Touches, Salmonberry’s and from choir members.
Cost: $15 for adults and seniors and $5 for students and children.
Capitol greetings
The season is off to a great start at the Capitol Theatre with the Capitol Glees, Wees and Sea Notes performing Sunday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. as they sing out Christmas Wishes to all. Show starts at 7 p.m. Lobby doors open at 6 p.m., Theatre doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each at the door. Children under 12 free with accompanying adult.
Organ music
Trinity Church will host an organ recital on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The recital features a program of Advent and Christmas music, played by David Cox on the organ and Peter Parker on the recorder. Admission by donation. Trinity Church is located on Fifth Avenue at Angus Street.
