It’s time for the annual pottery extravaganza known as the Holiday Pottery Sale and Show set to take place tomorrow at the Campbell River Sportsplex and running from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission.
There are many exceptional potters in this region. There is a long history of artisans creating vessels for our kitchens and art pieces for our homes here.
Fortunately, this tradition is being carried on by a number of emerging artists as well, and this month both seasoned clay veterans and innovative novices will unite under the Sportsplex roof to bring their wares to market. Over 30 clay artists from Campbell River, Quadra and the Comox Valley will be represented in the annual sale.
One of the new potters from Campbell River is Laura Gosnell. Laura has returned to the area after spending time in northern B.C. Her porcelain work is inspired by the coastal forests, mountains, and the Pacific.
The Carihi grad class will once again be serving tea, coffee, lunch items and snacks during the sale as a fundraiser for grad.
