The power of women in metal, punk and rock will be celebrated during the Canada Day weekend during Metalocalypstick at the Interlakes Community Centre near Lone Butte.
“This year’s lineup is yet again a wide range of metal, everything from punk to folk metal. There really is something for everyone here and a chance to broaden your taste in music,” said festival organizer Kaija Kinney.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds will go to charities, including Girls Rock Camp, Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, Earth Protectors plus sponsoring an independent band picked by Metalocalypstick Fest judges.
The music will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, and then start again at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 2.
