Cemetery tour offered

NANAIMO – Museum hosting tour at Wellington Cemetery on Thursday morning.

Residents of the Harbour City will have an opportunity to learn about one of Nanaimo’s oldest cemeteries.

On Thursday (Aug. 20) the Nanaimo Museum will be giving a guided tour of the Wellington Cemetery.

The cemetery, located on Ledgerwood Road in the north part of the city, was built in the late 1800s and is the final resting place for many of the city’s coal miners and first settlers.

The museum tour will touch on some of the stories of those who are buried at the cemetery.
