This is the season to add a little something extra to your life – an extra helping of stuffing here, a pumpkin latté there. Ah, October is grand (or is it grande?)

Adding to the variety and bounty of the season, the Vernon Performing Arts Centre has a full calendar of incredible concerts, dance, theatre and storytelling for your indulgence:

On Saturday at 8 p.m., the centre’s 2014/15 dance series starts with the Romulo Larrea Tango Ensemble’s production of Tango: Passion of a Lifetime. Be swept up in the passion and romance of tango at this sensual evening of live music and world class tango performances.

The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra’s 2014/15 season opener, Rhapsody, is Oct. 19 at the Performing Arts Centre. On the programme for the evening is Gershwin’s Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue along with Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and Freedman’s Oiseaux Exotiques.

This Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry is a warm-hearted and beloved comedy following the adventures of a stubborn southern matriarch and her proud chauffeur.

It’s the first of five incredible performances in the society’s 2014/15 theatre series and both subscriptions and individual tickets are on sale now through the Ticket Seller by calling 549-SHOW (7469)

Local tenor Paul Moore is on stage at the Performing Arts Centre Oct. 25 for a special evening of music along with friends including the Kokanee Singers, the Dreamland Bigband, Emerald Holt and others. Moore’s charisma shines through this programme of music that includes everything from classical arias to jazz favourites and contemporary pop.

Showtime is at 8 p.m. and you can call the Ticket Seller at 549-SHOW (7469) for your tickets.

And for all those lucky Stuart McLean ticket holders out there – the master storyteller is on stage at the Performing Arts Centre Oct. 21 for a sold-out performance.
