The Farquhar Auditorium will be filled with children’s voices Sunday as Will Stroet brings his high-energy and interactive music to the University of Victoria venue.

Stroet is the co-creator and star of the musical TV series Wills Jams on Kids’ CBC television. Along with his Backyard Band, Stroet will perform an energetic and educational 50-minute musical show with fun actions and sing-a-long choruses in both English and French.

The former music teacher knows how to write engaging songs for children and has performed at more than 1,000 shows at schools, theatres and festivals across Canada. Drawing from his own experiences, Stroet creates songs and stories that entertain the whole family with his highly participatory concerts.

Stroet’s new album Wordplay will have kids chuckling and singing along to funny puns, spoonerisms, anagrams, palindromes, rap and poetry. Along with a West Coast Songwriters Award and Approval from the Parents’ Choice Awards, he has received multiple nominations from the Western Canadian Music Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, and SiriusXM Indies.

Sunday’s show is set for 11 a.m. at the Farquhar Auditorium. Tickets are $15.50 to $22.50 and are available University Centre Ticket Centre, by calling 250-721-8480, or email ticket@uvic.ca.
