A Chilliwack musician has released an album of Celtic folk music, and it’s just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
Damian Brennan’s new CD, Shamrock Shore, features nine Irish songs complete with guitar, tin whistle and Irish bodhrán drum.
He said it’s a “great” St. Patrick’s Day listen.
“It contains traditional Irish music which I have arranged in a slightly more modern way and one original composition about the High King of Ireland Brian Boru,” Brennan said.
The original song is called ‘After Clontarf’ and features Nicole Ruuska.
The album comes after releasing his single, Falling, last year. Shamrock Shore is a one-man production and he credits that to the pandemic.
“I went from playing three to four days a week to nothing at all as far as live performances go,” he said. “The upside is, it has allowed me more time to create and build my home studio.”
Brennan sings all the vocals and plays all the instruments on Shamrock Shore. Each song was also arranged and recorded by him at Bad Cat Studio.
It is dedicated to his parents, Patrick and Alice Brennan, who are buried in Ireland and his new baby granddaughter Jade.
Shamrock Shore is available as a CD for $20 and is scheduled to be available as a digital download for $9.99 as of March 13.
