Chilliwack School of Performing Arts is bringing well-loved characters from the page to the Cultural Centre stage, with Robert and Willie Reale’s musical, A Year With Frog And Toad, in early 2012.

The musical follows two great friends, the cheerful and popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons, and it runs at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre Jan. 12-22.

Waking from hibernation in the spring, the charming characters proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves and go sledding, learning life lessons along the way.

CSOPA is also offering a special expressive course in the new year. It’s Homeschool Music & Drama Class running on Thursdays, from 12:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. It runs February 2 to April 12 for 10 weeks, not including spring break week.

They describe it as a “fun-filled class” where students (ages 5 – 12) will be given the opportunity to express themselves creatively while rehearsing a short musical theatre piece to present to family and friends at the end of the course.

Emphasis will be put on singing and acting techniques, as well as team work, self-expression and confidence. Register online at our website or call the office.
