The Chilliwack Visual Arts Association presents their latest exhibit ‘Goods for the Soul’ from August 3 until September 10 at the O’Connor Group Art Gallery.
The exhibit includes paintings by Diane Mackenzie and sculptures by Michael Ray.
Mackenzie’s work reflects her rural roots and her love of nature in clean, clear colours, masterful techniques and strong design and composition.
She will have over 70 paintings of various sizes in Goods for the Soul which reflect subjects, landscapes, portraits, animals, still life, florals and more. Her work is innovative, using watercolour, acrylic and mixed media.
Michael Ray will present sculptures that take shape in wood, stone and metal. Most of his work is intended to be easily recognizable by the viewer, with the intention being to make the viewer comfortable with the work allowing them to explore and experience the shapes and forms.
The gallery is located within the Chilliwack Cultural Centre (9201 Corbould St.) and is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Admission to the gallery is free.
The public is invited to attend the artist meet and greet for Goods for the Soul on August 6 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Prior to the opening of Goods for the Soul, gallery visitors can still wander through the current exhibit from the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists until July 30.
