Errington Hall resumes its 2015-16 concert series this Saturday night with a double dose of West Coast Indie folk headlined by The Chimney Swallows.
The group consists of multi-instrumentalists Corwin Fox of Comox and Raghu Lokanathan of Prince George. Both are accomplished solo performers, and Fox produces records for independent artists as well. Their shows range through material featuring high-energy picking, socially conscious songwriting, vocal harmonies, and humorous storytelling, backed by guitars, banjo, accordion, ukulele, mandolin and piano.
They began playing together when both served as pages at Victoria Public Library, and have since come into demand on the club, festival, cafe and house concert circuit.
Opening Saturday’s show is the local sister duo, Westerly. Made up of sisters Fahlon and Ramiah Smith, Westerly fuses two beautiful voices with sophisticated songwriting backed by guitar and viola arrangements.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available in advance at Cranky Dog, Heaven on Earth and the Errington Store. As always, home-baked treats and Creekmore coffee will be available.
