Join the Victoria Philharmonic Choir in song on Monday when the seventh annual Family Christmas Carol Sing-along comes to St. Mary the Virgin Church.
The 75-voice choir, conducted by Peter Butterfield, invites the community to sing traditional carols, backed by choir’s four-part harmony and accompanied by organ and the five-member ensemble, Brasstastic.
“It’s always a joyous celebration of community singing and glorious choral music,” organizers say. “As always, the littlest community choristers have their special place in the performance, and seating in the front benches, as space permits.”
Orca Book Publishing has also donated children’s books for a draw.
Doors for the Family Christmas Carol Sing-along open 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. concert at St. Mary’s, 1701 Elgin Rd. Tickets are $20, or $10 for students and free for accompanied children 12 and younger, who must have a ticket or get one at the door. Buy tickets (cash or cheque), from Ivy’s Bookshop and The Shieling, at vpchoir.ca, or at the door if not sold out.
