The Barkley Sounds Community Choir salutes Port Alberni’s centennial with Those Were the Days, a performance this Sunday, April 29  at the Alberni Valley United Church. Music will start at 2:30 p.m.

Directors Bonnie and Phil Wallbank have chosen some songs from the more recent past, and as usual have put on their own twist.

Special guest, Anna Lewis, will play the fiddle. Lewis is a Port Alberni girl and Alberni District Secondary School graduate. She started playing the violin when she was four years old and now plays with Phil’s Harmonics String Orchestra.

Other special guests include Lothar Haack on recorder, Wayne Janzen on drums and Phil Wallbank on the violin and recorder.

Tickets for Those Were the Days are $10 and available from choir members, the Rollin Art Centre or at the door.
