Choir spanning centuries

The B.C. Boys Choir, directed by Tony Araujo, will perform in the Denman Community Hall on Sunday, February 27 at 3 p.m.

The B.C. Boys Choir, directed by Tony Araujo, will perform in the Denman Community Hall on Sunday, February 27 at 3 p.m.

The B.C. Boys Choir is a four-part secular boys choir, one of the few in North America. Their repertoire spans centuries, from Gregorian chant to contemporary works, many specifically composed for the choir.

Through extensive touring the choir has collected music and memories from across Canada and around the globe. They will present a program called Around the World in 80 Minutes.

Advance tickets at $17 are available at Denman General Store (250-335-2293), Abraxas Books (250-335-2731,  Bop City Records (250-338-6621) or online using Paypal at concertsdenman.ca. Adult tickets at the door are $20, or $5 for students.

This performance is part of the 20th Concerts Denman season on the island.  Concerts Denman is sponsored by Arts Denman, a non-profit volunteer organization.
