This holiday season, Cineplex’s Front Row Centre events invites audiences to get in the holiday spirit with affordable films to be screened consecutive Saturday mornings in December.
Family favourites include The Polar Express, voiced by Tom Hanks, Dec. 7.
This now classic film follows a doubting young boy, who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole. During this ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, which shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
Arthur Christmas, to screen Dec. 14, has the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: “So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night? The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the heart of the film is a story with the ingredients of a Christmas classic – a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns.
On Dec. 21 is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
A curmudgeonly recluse (Jim Carrey), who hates Christmas, becomes annoyed with the out-of-control Christmas festivities in Whoville, the town lying below his cave dwelling on Mt. Crumpit.
But after the Grinch conspires to deprive the Whos of their favourite holiday by sneaking into town on Christmas Eve to steal everything associated with the holiday, he learns that the spirit of Christmas goes much deeper than tinsel and toys.
All films screen at 11 a.m. at Galaxy Cinemas in Vernon. General admission is $2.50. More information is available at Cineplex.com/family.
