City seeks artists for exhibition

The City of Nanaimo is asking residents to submit artistic proposals for its annual outdoor exhibition.

In an effort to showcase local art, the City of Nanaimo is asking residents to submit artistic proposals for its annual outdoor exhibition.

The exhibition, which will feature art throughout the city, will display pieces for a year at a number of locations including Maffeo Sutton Park.

While the process is technically open to anyone in Canada, preference will be given to artists or proposals that are from the Nanaimo region.

The deadline for submissions is Nov. 18 and the chosen artists will be announced in December.

The city begin its temporary displays of public art in 2008.
