Cloverdale’s David Jorge has cooked his way to the finale of the reality TV show MasterChef Canada.
Jorge, a concrete contractor, was chosen among 49 home cooks from across Canada chosen to compete on the show.
He advanced to the Top 2 after an intense farm-to-table challenge at a Niagara vineyard where contestants prepared meals for judges and farmers using local produce and meat. Jorge and his venison dish won the challenge, sending him to the season finale this Sunday.
Jorge will now vie for top spot and the $100,000 prize against Moncton’s Line Pelletier. The pair will have to prepare the best three-course meal under a time constraint to win over the judges and be named MasterChef Canada.
The final show airs May 24 at 8 p.m. on CTV.
