Comedians bring some laughter to Armstrong

Professional comedians Jamie Charest and Rob Balsdon bring their in-your-face, no-holds-barred comedy show to Armstrong.

Professional comedians Jamie Charest and Rob Balsdon are bringing their in-your-face, no-holds-barred comedy show to Armstrong for an unforgettable night of laughter.

Both comedians hit the stage at the Armstrong Inn tonight.

Charest first set foot on a comedy stage in 1999 after spending many years as a variety entertainer and street performer.

He is said to be funnier than ever, performing stand-up comedy on a regular basis at comedy clubs, theatres and private functions throughout Western Canada.

“A feature performer at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Charest always puts on a fun show with plenty of energy and always gives the crowd something to talk about after,” said Balsdon, who works as a radio host in Kelowna, and is a regular at comedy nights in his hometown.

Balsdon has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Canadian comedy including “The Harley Guy” Herb Dixon, Gerry Dee from The Score and Last Comic Standing, and comedy legend Mike MacDonald.

Balsdon recently worked with one of his idols when he opened for film star and Saturday Night Live alumnus Norm MacDonald.

From life’s guilty pleasures, such as television and video games, to sports, school and relationships, Balsdon’s been there and done it wrong, and he’s been sharing his stories all across Canada for the past nine years.

Tickets to see them both are available in advance for $8 at the Armstrong Inn Liquor Store or $10 at the door The show starts at 9 p.m. tonight.
