Comedy nights continue in Mission -at The Stage on Saturday, Sept. 23 when Fraser Valley Comedy presents Laugh Out Loud featuring three Vancouver-based stand-up comedians.
John Cullen is the rare comedian that you watch and he’s having so much fun on stage that you can’t decide whether he’s having more fun or you are. A charismatic performer and a modern-day renaissance man, Cullen brings his vast experiences in life as a curler, high school teacher, drummer, and friend to the stage in an attempt to make sure that everybody has the best time. Because really, that’s what comedy is all about.
In just six years as a comedian, Cullen has performed at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal three times (including once for TV), Just for Laughs Northwest in Vancouver, rose through the Yuk Yuk’s ranks to become a club headliner, and did his first TV taping at the Halifax Comedy Festival in 2016.
Jacob Samuel is a nice Jewish boy and a very funny stand-up comedian who’s appeared on Sirius XM Radio, Shaw TV’s Talent Time, and the JFL Northwest and Music Waste festivals.
As far as he knows, he’s the only Canadian comedian ever to be retweeted by acclaimed American documentary filmmaker Ken Burns.
Brittany Lyseng is a nationally touring stand-up comedian. She can be heard on CBC radio’s Laugh Out Loud, Sirius XM and seen on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network.
Lyseng’s down-to-earth view of the world is capturing audiences across Canada, and has earned her a place at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, JFL Northwest in Vancouver, and multiple appearances at her home town YYCOMEDY Festival in Calgary.
