Countertenors, tenors, baritones, and basses, the Vernon Community Choir is needing you to lend them your voices.
Vernon’s 100-plus member choir has started up for the season and new members are welcome, especially men, said longtime choir director Molly Boyd.
“No audition and no experience is necessary, just a love of singing,” she added.
This season the choir will be working on its Celtic Christmas program, which promises to be a wonderful blend of songs, with varied accompaniment, said Boyd.
Special guests joining the choir include Rough Pearl (formerly of Cats and the Fiddle), a Celtic group of talented women. Concert dates are Dec. 14 and 15.
Besides its Christmas and spring concerts, the choir participates in the Coldstream Remembrance Day service, the Downtown Vernon Festival of Traditions (light-up), and carolling at Silver Star Mountain Resort.
“We donate to many youth and musical programs as well as collect warm clothing for the homeless,” said Boyd. “This truly is a community choir, in our membership, our music, and our service.”
