Chuck Burdick, a resident of Comox, recently published an 82-page colour photography book, titled Images of the Salish Sea and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.
The first section of the book is filled with images of Gibsons Landing, Seal Bay Nature Park, Point Holmes, Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park, the Comox Marina and Port Augusta Park.
The second section includes images of the Long Beach portion of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, Ucluelet’s Wild Pacific Trail, Broken Group Islands, and the Pacific Rim Rainforest trail. Burdick says customers are buying the book for Christmas presents.
Burdick is a self-taught photographer working in multiple genres including macro, landscape, wildlife, and abstract photography. He seeks to capture beauty in this world with emphasis on shape, colour, and texture.
He chose Comox as the perfect place to reside because he would be constantly surrounded by nature’s remarkable beauty.
Burdick’s photography is sold worldwide to individuals and business organizations by FineArtAmerica and Image Conscious, which is a publishing house in San Francisco.
Burdick has published three books of his photographs.
In addition, his photograph of Trinity, N.L. is on the cover of the 2018 Spring issue of Catholic Missions in Canada magazine.
His Newfoundland photography is featured in the June 2018 issue of Downhome magazine’s Sure Shot section.
His photographic work has been displayed at the Pearl Ellis Gallery in Comox.
He is selling photography cards at the Comox Air Force Museum, the Pearl Ellis Gallery, the Comox Valley Art Gallery, the Sea Breeze Boutique in Comox, and the Laughing Oyster Bookshop in Courtenay.
