Preceding the 2015 Comox Valley Airshow, photographer Bryan Walwork will show an exhibition of aircraft images at Whyte’s Framing and Gallery in Comox. The display – Comox Valley Air – will run from Saturday, July 18 to Friday, July 31 and you can meet the photographer on July 18, from 1 to 4 pm at the gallery: 1225 Lazo Road in Comox (phone 250-339-3366).
Walwork developed an interested in photography at a young age, when he learned to develop and print in the darkroom.
His photography has evolved to include a wide range of techniques and he has embraced new technologies in the process.
A self-described generalist, he enjoys photographing a broad range of subjects and uses his photography to share the things he has seen abroad and at home.He particularly enjoys finding new photographic challenges.
Since his retirement to the Comox Valley in 2002, Walwork has been sharing his knowledge and techniques by conducting workshops and photo sessions in his private studio. As an active member and past president of the Comox Valley Photographic Society, he has been able to share with a larger audience through that organization.
Each spring the Snowbirds Aerobatic Team comes to the Comox Valley, sometimes accompanied by the CF-18 Demonstration Team, and Walwork takes advantage of these opportunities to build his aircraft photo collection. He enjoyed the 2013 Comox Airshow and looks forward to creating new and different images at the 2015 Comox Airshow on Aug. 15.
