UVic School of Music professor and oboist Alexandra Pohran Dawkins celebrates 30 years of teaching March 25 with a Faculty Chamber Music Concert bringing together musicians who have been an important part of her life at UVic, including faculty and students.
Performances include Hummel’s Partita in E-flat for Wind Octet, Echoes from a Play, by Finnish composer Aulis Sallinen, and Prayer of St. Francis, by late Canadian composer George Bassingthwaigthe.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Phillip T. Young Recital Hall, B-Wing, MacLaurin Building. Tickets are $10 to $20 from the UVic Ticket Centre (250-721-8480 or uvic.ca/auditorium/) and at the door.
