Cooking up a devil of a meal

Crannog Ales and Shuswap Chefs are combining their culinary expertise to present a special Samhain Feast Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Enjoy a festive pre-scream meal Wednesday, Oct. 30.

“It’s always a good idea to eat a great meal before you get terrified,” says Rebecca Kneen of Crannóg Ales. “After all, you need energy to support all that adrenalin.”

Crannóg Ales and Shuswap Chefs are hosting a special Samhain feast.

Each course of the dinner will be paired with beers from Crannóg Ales for a very special dining experience. The chefs and brewers have carefully selected ingredients, cooking styles and ales to enhance specific flavours in each course.

“It’s a great opportunity to see how the beer and food work together to make each aspect more interesting,” says Kneen.

David Shiner of Shuswap Chefs says “we’re playing with the theme of Devil’s Night for this dinner, so look out for some unusual ingredients. We’re having fun in the kitchen.”

Not to be outdone by the chefs, alesmith Brian MacIsaac has created a new seasonal ale which will debut at the dinner.

“Maniacal Jack Pumpkin Ale is full of organic pumpkin, squash and spices. It’s really aromatic, spicy and it has a bit of a kick too – this is most definitely not the over-sweetened pie-in-a-glass pumpkin ale other breweries make. We will always trick and treat.”

Tickets at $60 each, are all inclusive and sold in advance only at available at Shuswap Chefs, 250-832-5019.
