Country blues, ragtime and bluegrass come together at Performances in the Park Thursday evening with Chicken Like Birds.

Chicken Like Birds is a slightly ridiculous but definitely sweet country blues duo mixing in a touch of refined sloppiness and a smidge of improvisation into every set.

Saenger and Thorne are performing at 7 p.m.

They are an acoustic lead duo with excellent singer/guitar performances.

Kira and Peter met about eight months ago and since then have been working together to form the duo Saenger and Thorne.

Their style of music is acoustic pop/rock.

They have such a variety of music choices because of the difference in their ages 16 to 58.

That is a lot of decades of music.

There will be an Art in the Park kid’s corner, hosted by the Community Arts Council of Williams Lake as in previous seasons providing art projects for the little ones.

There are vendors on site selling bannock, sandwiches, pizza and sweets.

New this year is Downtown Discount Daze offered by select businesses in the downtown core — offered from 3 p.m. until closing prior to each Performances in the Park concert.

Arty the Art Walker will be on site as part of the 2016 Art Walk and Sale which began Friday.
