Cousin Harley to play in Spirit Square

Summer Kicks continue in Golden

Golden best get ready to rock. Cousin Harley will be playing at the Spirit Square on Wednesday,  July 6  for Golden’s second Summer Kicks Concert Series of the season. Cousin Harley, who wowed the crowd last year during Summer Kicks, is coming back to give us even more.

“We play real honest to goodness original Rock n Roll with a good helping of traditional country,” Paul Pigat explained.

Cousin Harley tells us to expect a good time with a lot of original tunes and some covers of the classics.

Their unique style makes them hard to categorize but Pigat said that “people call us a rockabilly band for lack of a better term but that’s not really us. How about hopped up Americana!”

Hopped up Americana is a sound much like no other and it has been sending out great vibes since 2000 when Cousin Harley played their first gig.

For those coming to the show tonight at 7 p.m., don’t forget to bring the kids and grandkids. Cousin Harley is popular in all age groups and their music always makes people get up and dance.

Cousin Harley will be playing two sets with tonight’s tweener set being played by none other than Golden’s own Leo Downey. Downey, owner of the Buffalo Ranch, moved to Golden from California where he played music.

Downey didn’t leave his love for music behind, his original songs give insight to his thoughts and can leave a crowd mesmerized.  This is the second show in the Summer Kicks, Down by the Bridge Concert series. Upcoming shows include The Bitterweed Draw on July 13, Caladh Nua on July 20 and Jenny Whiteley Band on July 27.

If you want to see Cousin Harley and Leo Downey perform, head down to the Spirit Square July 6 with a chair and be ready for 7p.m.
