The Campbell River Singers, along with conductor John Montgomery and assistant conductor Shelley Roberts, warmly invite everyone to join them for their 38th Annual Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 this year being performed at the Campbell River Baptist Church at 260 S. Dogwood St.
One hundred voices strong, the choir, along with their talented accompanists, Lynn Montgomery and Helen Moats, and a group of familiar local musicians, and will be performing selections from Messiah by G.F.Handel.
Composed in 1741, Messiah is the most well-known of Handel’s compositions, and continues to be a popular performance piece for the Christmas Season in many countries around the world.
The second half of the program is a wonderful mix of songs to celebrate the season. Traditional carol arrangements, glorious gospel anthems along with a few jazz and contemporary pieces (HINT: think Michael Buble) will be sure to satisfy a wide range of musical tastes. A traditional Christmas carol Sing-Along is planned and is a great way for everyone to become part of the celebration.
So, save the date, call a friend, and bring the family for a wonderful evening of Christmas songs to warm the heart.
Tickers are: Adults – $18; Students & Seniors – $15; 6yr and under – free. Tickets available at the Visitor’s Bureau, Choir Members, and at the door.
