Dave Lang – a master storyteller tells all Dec 21st

The Packing House in Spences Bridge presents a special Christmas show on Wednesday, Dec. 21 with Dave Lang and the Black Squirrels. Dave Lang writes perfect songs. He’s a master storyteller with a sly, incisive wit. Not only are the songs as humourous as they are rocking, but he is also an amazing showman.

Along with his six piece dynamo, featuring three horns and a whole lot of country swing, the night is sure to include some songs of their own…and some classics. Join in on the fun as Dave & co. will be swinging by the Packing House on their Christmas, New Years tour…YeeHaa! Reservations required as there is limited seating available (250) 458-2256 or visit the Packing House in Spences Bridge.

WRAP Kids & Adults Play announced for Spring

Winding Rivers Arts & Performance Society is very excited to announce plans are in the works to produce and perform a theatrical kids and adults play in Ashcroft called ‘Swamp Pirate Zombies’.

The theatrical comedy written by Andrew Ross, follows a down-on-their-luck film crew has been sent to the swamps of a town near the Florida Everglades called Key Wurst to shoot a pirate film. The problem? They have no budget and no script. And the actors, who had to walk to this practically impossible to find locale due to lack of pay, are so exhausted they look like zombies!

The play will be directed by local actress and director Mavourneen Varcoe-Ryan. Preparation for the Spring performance begins in early January with Auditions and Rehearsals soon after. Look for posters in the new year.

Don’t forget about the last two Dessert Concerts which take place  March 10 with John Gilliat (flamenco guitarist) and April 14 with Linda McRae (old time country).

Live Music makes a great gift..anytime of the year – contact Andrea to purchase a WRAP Gift Certificate for any future dessert concert performance.

If you are interested in Volunteering for WRAP they are looking to expand their working volunteer base and encourage folks in the community to lend a hand in any way. WRAP will also be hosting a ‘Volunteer Appreciation and New Member Drive’ in mid January.
