Lillooet Music presents one of Canada’s national treasures. Singer/songwriter/guitarist, Roy Forbes.
Forbes is blessed with a unique voice, that is part Hank, part Billie Holiday, part Robert Plant and startlingly soulful. Take a really great voice, back it up with some down home blues/folk solo guitar licks, throw in a dash of good humour and you’ve got Roy Forbes.
Forbes began his career in 1971 by leaving his hometown of Dawson Creek for Vancouver and opening for large bands such as Supertramp, Three Dog Night and Santana. He nabbed a 1999 West Coast Music award for his album Crazy Old Moon and has received two Juno nominations.
He will be playing at the Masonic Hall in Lillooet on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 pm. For more info and ticket purchase location call (250) 256-7888 or visit their website: www.lillooetmusic.com

Willy Blizzard performs at The Packing House on Saturday, April 9. Folks in Ashcroft may remember this band from the Video Shoot they did last summer here in Ashcroft. The music video featured our own local impromptu actors John Kidder and SunnyJack.
Willy Blizard is a three piece band playing upright bass, banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, with a great three part harmony. The Trio draws on classic themes of Canada: ‘the landscape, the people, the history… the echo of a canoe, a chain saw, a fish boat, and laundry flapping in the wind.’ Their music combines folk and country that ‘raises a little dust’ and ‘carries the stamp of our land.’ For dinner/concert reservations phone (250) 458-2256.
