Creston’s Peanut Butter and Jam hosting Fort McMurray fundraiser

Peanut Butter and Jam playing Celtic, Maritimes, '60s and '70s tunes in June 1 fundraiser, joined by Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen...

Peanut Butter and Jam is a Creston Valley group that just loves to play music — and their next concert will help out victims of the wildlife that devastated Fort McMurry, Alta. The group is well known for playing Celtic and Martimes tunes, as well as ’60s and ’70s favourites.

They will be joined by singer-songwriters Dan Frechette and Laurel Thomsen, who have played in Creston several times, as they raise funds to donate to the Red Cross, which are matched by the federal and Alberta governments.

The concert runs at 7 p.m. June 1 at Prince Charles Theatre, and admission is by donation.
