Country music star Dean Brody returns to Abbotsford next year as part of his Beautiful Freakshow tour, starting in April.

Brody appears at Abbotsford Centre on Thursday, June 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets go on sale starting Friday, Nov. 4, starting at 10 a.m.

Brody previously performed at the venue in February 2014 and in September 2015 in a co-headline tour with Paul Brandt.

The past year saw Brody take home a JUNO Award for Country Album of the Year, along with four Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards for the top-selling digital Canadian country single of all-time, Bring Down the House.

Beautiful Freakshow is Brody’s sixth album, and it’s one that takes risks and delves outside of the comfort zone of traditional country. It features songs such as the progressive title track, featuring a rap vocal from Halifax native Shevy Price, and the mellow reggae vibe invoked from Beautiful Girl.

The song Blueberry Sky features country legend Vince Gill on the guitar.

Opening act at the Abbotsford show will be Madeline Merlo, 2015 CCMA Rising star and reigning BCCMA Female Artist of the Year.

Also featured is top five Canadian country radio act James Barker Band.

Tickets are available online at livenation.com, ticketmaster.ca or charge by phone at 1-855-985-5000.
