Protosequence is bringing its heavy sound of technical death metal and brutal deathcore to Nanaimo.
The band, which hails from Edmonton, is currently travelling across British Columbia on its Greasy B.C. Tour to promote its debut EP Schizophrene. The group is touring with Plaguebringer, a melodic, progressive deathcore band from Calgary.
The bands perform at the Cambie, located at 63 Victoria Cres., Monday (June 12) at 9 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.
Protosequence draws inspiration from All Shall Perish, August Burns Read and the Black Dahlia Murder.
“With a foothold on their influences, they root their music technically while layering emotional, yet gruff vocals weaved into every track,” states the band’s website. “The band transitions seamlessly through djent riffs, grinding drums and groove elements making their sound versatile and ever-changing.”
