December Photo of the Month

The Ladysmith Camera Club chose this photo by Ken Thorne of Chemainus as its Photo of the Month.

The Ladysmith Camera Club’s Photo of the Month for November was “Mask of the Fairy Queen” by Ken Thorne of Chemainus. The theme was “Still Life,” with images taken during the in-club workshop on Oct. 22. The hand-carved mask photographed by Thorne was made by Wayan Sudarsana, the chief of his Balinese village, who was taught to carve by a village elder. It was one of several props that were used in the workshop. The club's next meeting will be the annual social potluck and gear exchange Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. in Hardwick Hall at High Street at Third Avenue in Ladysmith. Everyone is welcome, and non-members pay a $5 drop-in fee. The Ladysmith Camera Club welcomes new members from novice to pro. For more information, visit http://ladysmithcameraclub.com.
