Kids are invited to drop by and decorate a cake for Mother’s Day for free at Thrifty Foods in Parksville on Saturday May 11 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Last year, budding cake boss Jayla MacKenzie of Errington, above, made this masterpiece for her mom Katrina making sure it had just enough frosting and other edible elements.
