Dinner so good, it’s deadly

Pasta, large Italian families ... and a murder to solve?

Pasta, large Italian families … and a murder to solve?

That’s the premise of Yellow Point Drama Group’s Italian Style Murder Mystery night.

“It will be a fun evening all around,” said Brian March, president, writer and director.

The murder mystery dinner theatre features two large Italian families gathering for a christening that turns into a funeral.

“The audience becomes part of the family,” March said.

The fundraiser for the drama group aims to engage the audience as much as possible.

Come prepared to help solve the mystery.

“You can do as much or as little as you want to do,” he said, adding he finds most people come out of their shells at the shows.

People are encouraged to dress up Italian-style.

“If you want to get into it you can wear high fashion or flashy suits,” he said. “Or just come as you are.”

March said the show will appeal to many different kinds of show-goers.

“There’s the mystery fans, but then there’s a lot of comedy,” he explained.

The actors interact with the audience throughout the evening.

The event is Saturday, Feb. 5, at Cedar Hall. Reception is 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $30 and must be reserved by Feb. 2 by calling 250-722-3067 or e-mailing ypdg@shaw.ca.
