Are you hesitant about singing?
Letz Sing is a non-performing, non-auditioned growing vocal force in the Comox Valley. If you are looking for a relaxed and accepting place to try out your singing voice for the first time, Letz Sing might be just what you are looking for. We sing songs, chants and rounds from a diversity of origins and traditions each week in three different locations and times in the Comox Valley.
Song leader, Tina Filippino, is part of the UBUNTU network which believes that everyone can sing.
In each of the weekly sessions you will be guided through an hour and a half of singing melodies and harmonies in the oral tradition of call and response. Tina is a skilled educator who delivers lessons in a step-by-step fashion without the use of written notation. Shyness and self consciousness about an individual’s voice shifts as the focus and intention is the sound we produce together.
There are many reasons to add singing to your weekly routine. Just google “The benefits of group singing” and you can read reports and studies that demonstrate that singing can influence social, emotional, physical and mental well being.
All scientific rational aside, the main reason people commit to gathering each week at Letz Sing is to create songs together and to have fun.
So come and have some fun with us. Letz Sing is a lovely community waiting to welcome you and your voice.
