The Gold Fever Follies will be having their premiere show Saturday. This year, the local Rossland theatre group is doing the original play John vs John, which focuses on another aspect of Rossland’s history.
R.J. Peters is back directing the play, and said that despite the play having an historical aspect, it still has the usual Follies shenanigans, including action, comedy and a love story, as well as a tightly written script by local Ben Turner.
Turner is a past grad of Rossland Secondary.
Peters said that Big John vs John is the story of duelling lawmen, John Kerkop and John Ingram.
Performances take place from June 30 to Aug. 25, with regular showings at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. starting in July, Tuesday through Saturday.
This Saturday the show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Miners’ Hall.
General Admission is $13, seniors $10 and Children 12 and under $8.
