Dwight Yoakam turned it on, turned it up and turned it loose in Kelowna Thursday night, when he finally made it on stage.

The classic country artist made his third Kelowna performance in about a dozen years at Prospera Place. But the latest performance was a little tardy, causing some restlessness among the approximately 2,000 fans.

But when he finally did make it on stage, the legend played a plethora of hits including some of his classics plus the more boot-scootin’ variety. Each of them had couples dancing and fans hootin’ and hollerin’.

Opening for the legend was The Washboard Union and Meghan Patrick.
