This year will be Surrey’s seventh iteration of the annual Party for the Planet, held on April 22 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall Plaza.

On Tuesday, the city announced the event will feature a full roster of Canadian artists on the Canada 150 stage, including Virginia to Vegas, Willa, Kutapira, Ben Dunnill, Will Stroet and more.

In addition to roaming the Environmental Extravaganza and learning about the City’s range of annual environmental programs and events happening between Earth Day in April and World Oceans’ Day in June, attendees can visit the new ‘Canada 150 Zone’ featuring activities and crafts.

“In celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, this year’s Party for the Planet is even bigger and better than ever with unique celebrations and performances,” said Mayor Linda Hepner in a release. “As BC’s premier Earth Day event, Party for the Planet honours both our country and community’s ongoing commitment to environmental and sustainable initiatives. I encourage all to come out and enjoy this very special celebration full of free activities and entertainment for the whole family.”

Mauro Manzi, Senior Vice President of TD Bank Group, said TD has been investing in Surrey for the past seven years through this event.

“TD has been committed to giving back to the City of Surrey, like through the annual TD Tree Day events or the recent gift to develop Forsyth Park in Surrey City Centre in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday. We are looking forward to celebrating with Surrey again in April as part of this milestone year,” said Manzi.

Additional festival attractions this year will include Blink Acro, the annual tree and plant sale, a rock climbing wall, a bike powered smoothie stop, an urban farmers market, a BC Lions autograph session, road hockey, eco-crafts, a variety of local vendors and more.
