Rabbits and bunnies, terriers and exotic birds – meet them all at the Surrey Museum, hosting its annual Easter Fair this Saturday.
In addition to spring crafts, holiday games and an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt, there will be an array of local wildlife rescue groups on hand, teaching young visitors about the “Real” Easter Bunny and other critters.
It’s a chance for families to learn about local wildlife and rescue animals, from bunnies to iguanas, and pups to parrots.
“People should adopt instead of shop,” says Delta’s Jennifer Kaiser, from Without Borders Boxer Rescue, who adds by rescuing, you save a life and do your part in combating overpopulation.
“There are far more h
omeless dogs than there are dogs in loving homes,” Kaiser says.
The event is also a chance to learn about how to help homeless and abandoned animals in the community.
Other animal rescue groups at this year’s Easter Fair include: Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy, the AireCanada Airdale Terrier Rescue Networks, Surrey’s Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary, TnT Sharpei Rescue, Westcoast Society for the Protection and Conservation of Reptiles, Wildlife Rescue Association of B.C., Chihuahua Club of BC and Canada.
The event runs from 1-4 p.m. Admission is by donation.
