Easter filled with sweet surprises

•Shiny chocolate eggs will once again be peppered around Foster Park as the Foster Park Easter Egg Hunt returns Saturday, April 19. The event was cancelled last year due to insurance coverage issues, but affordable premiums have been found and the bunny will be back.

The event runs from noon to about 1:30 p.m. and includes a hot dog sale, face painting, clowns, a jelly bean count, a raffle basket, draws and cotton candy. Foster Park is located at the Corner of Pym Street and Sanderson Road in Parksville.

•Bring the family down to The Bunny Trail at Milner Gardens and Woodland running Friday, April 18 through Monday, April 21. Spot as many ceramic bunnies as you can along the trail and kids can head to the Pool House Gift Shop for an Easter Treat once they are finished. Admission to the gardens is $8.25 for adults and $4.25 for students and children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. For more information visit www.viu.ca/milnergardens.

•Tiger Lily Farms is having its annual Easter event where kids can hunt for hardboiled eggs and then decorate them, or get crafty with their own homemade basket. There will be opportunities to decorate cookies, visit with the Easter bunny, play games like Candy in the Hay or partake in the usual barnyard activities and pony rides. •Visit with the baby calves at the Morningstar Farm, check out the milking parlour while you’re there (happening twice a day), watch the cheesemakers at Little Qualicum Cheeseworks in action and taste some samples. •Easter Egg Hunt at Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf, Sunday April 20 at 9:30 a.m. Meet the Easter Bunny, and hop on the Bouncy Castle (weather permitting.) Children 10 and under can search for one of the six marked golf balls to win a grand prize, younger children get a head start. •The Easter Bunny will be at Paradise Mini Golf and Fun Park on Sunday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. handing out treats to golfers.
