In addition, he recently was appointed as the executive director of the Kiwanis Music Festival of Kelowna.

This past year, Machura also helped found the Vernon Folk-Roots Music Society, which so far has held three concerts in what will be an ongoing series,  and successfully ran Vernon’s first Story Slam.

Machura’s also hosts a weekly jam at the Longhorn Pub (Vernon’s only country, rock, and roots jam) and is a TOC for the Okanagan Indian Band.

Machura is a singer-songwriter in the rock-country-folk-roots tradition of singer-songwriters like Ian Tyson, Neil Young, John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Petty, John Cougar, and Bruce Springsteen.

In addition to publishing more than 20 songs in Nashville, Machura has released four CDs and has been played from coast-to-coast in Canada in addition to the U.K., Europe, New Zealand, U.S., and Australia.
